Our new house in San Miguel de Allende

We recently bought a vacation house in San Miguel de Allende, México. Because we are homebound by the covid threat, we gave our daughter Ellen who lives in México the power of attorney to represent us at the closing on October 12, 2020. She and her husband Joel took possession of the house and began the work of making it a home away from home for all of us.

Below is a ten-minute video done about two hours after the closing. You can tell that Ellen is very excited about our new house!

Unfortunately Ellen’s cell phone battery died to end this video. Ellen also had JM Butterfly BnB work to do. She just definitely learned that the Cerro Pelon Monarch Butterfly Reserve would not be allowed to open to outsiders for the 2020-2021 November-to-March season. So room refunds to make, further work on creating virtual butterfly tours, and on working with Joel to organizes new house things. Three days later we received a video update covering the rest of the house, which is presented below.

One of the tasks they have started is painting the house in more traditional Mexican colors. Below are some slides showing the changes made before they returned to Macheros on October 28.
